MS Dhoni’s Road Map post the World Cup 2019

Well to start with, the former Indian captain had a tough time with his bat and gloves in England. Though the veteran has been in and around the team for many years, there is lot of pressure on his position in the team. Considering the poor form, he had maintained a good strike-rate throughout the World Cup. Things dint go India’s way as the rain factor back-fired team India and the event postponed to reserve day. The boys were brilliant with the bat but failed big time in the semi finals. The batting department collapsed and the pressure was built upon the middle-order batters.

The pitch was too damp and the ball was not coming to the bat well. Top-order batters collapsed early, so the captain Virat Kohli. The asking-rate was not so high and the wickets kept falling often. Rishab Pant was settled, playing top quality shots but got out very cheaply for an off-spinner. When the legendary bastman MS. Dhoni came into the crease, the asking rate had touched 7 RPO. As usual, he takes some time to settle. As wickets kept falling on the other side, he dint go for shots and wanted to take the game deep.

“When the going gets tough, the tough gets going”, they say. Ravindra Jadeja, one of the potential guys around team India played an absolute knock wherein he stepped out boldly and wacked two sixers of Mitchell Santer’s over. That alarmed New Zealand. Dhoni and Jadeja played beautiful innings and reached 100-run partnership.

Dhoni on the other side played too many dot balls and that pressure was passed on to jaddu. He threw his wicket and 23 runs off last over was the scene! Never had he ever fell short of reaching the crease, MS Dhoni was out of the crease when martin guptill affected the stumps.
